Announcing another show in Cambridgeshire for Jennifer Copley-May, with 6 works in the annual community exhibition organised by Cambridge Open Art at Swavesey Village College. Both framed and unframed pieces will be displayed alongside some 100 other artists’, offering plenty of choice for a spot of early Christmas shopping – there will be over 600 artworks in total – a great opportunity to acquire or gift an original one-off present.
The exhibition is run by volunteers and has a charity element, supporting the Johabetto Orphanage, Kitale, Kenya. Students at Swavesey college students help with the organisation, set up and running of the show: “When I went to drop off my work I was greeted by some lovely young people who were incredibly efficient and friendly. I’m excited about the opening night, there is such a community spirit surrounding this event and a charity ethos which is so important, especially at this time of year.” – Jennifer Copley-May
The private view takes place tomorrow night, Friday 17 November 2017, with Dr Catherine Burke, Reader in History of Education and Childhood at the University of Cambridge, officially opening the show.
Pop by between 6.30 and 9pm if you’re in the area and say hello to Jennifer. Entry is by ticket only – available for £5 on the door to include a glass of wine and nibbles. The exhibition is then open to the public for free (with free parking) on Saturday 18 November, 10am to 5pm and Sunday 19, 10am to 4pm. Find out more on the organisers’ website: www.coax.org.uk.
